Flood Restoration Portfolio Senior Executive Role

Our Client is delivering one of regional Australia’s most significant reconstruction programs following the 2022 floods. We’re seeking an experienced Director – Portfolio Management Office (PMO) to lead strategic planning, governance, and delivery oversight across this complex, high‑value portfolio.

All applicants must have relevant Australian or NZ experience and have the right to work in Australia.

This is initially a 12-month fixed term contract seconded to one of our clients’ organizations based in Northern New South Wales, Australia, but may lead to a long-term role with a growing specialist engineering and project management consultancy based in Southeast Queensland managing projects throughout Australia and New Zealand.

The Opportuni

·   Lead the PMO for a major multi‑year flood restoration program

·   Drive portfolio strategy, governance, assurance, and performance

·   Influence executive decision‑making and shape community outcomes

·   Lead a multidisciplinary team delivering critical public infrastructure

Key Responsibilities

·   Develop and execute Client’s portfolio strategy

·   Establish governance, assurance, and reporting frameworks

·   Oversee financial management, forecasting, and procurement

·   Lead project controls: schedule, cost, risk, change

·   Provide independent delivery assurance and performance insights

·   Build capability and lead a high‑performing PMO team

·   Manage interdependencies, risks, and stakeholder relationships

About You

You’re a senior leader with deep experience in complex project, program, or portfolio environments. You bring:

·   10+ years senior leadership in large, complex portfolios

·   Strong governance, risk, and assurance capability

·   Advanced financial and commercial acumen

·   Expertise in project controls and PMO frameworks

·   High‑level stakeholder engagement and negotiation skills

·   Proven ability to lead and develop multidisciplinary teams

Qualifications & Checks

·   Tertiary qualifications in Project Management, Engineering, Construction, Business, Finance, or similar

·   Current NSW Class C Driver Licence

·   National Criminal History Check & Working with Children Check
