Project Manager — Transport Infrastructure (Gold Coast Queensland, 12 month fixed term)

Role overview

The Project Manager will lead delivery of transport infrastructure works within a regional flood‑restoration program. This hands‑on role requires practical site leadership for road, culvert and access‑road repairs, management of contractors and delivery partners, and clear stewardship of programme risk, quality and audit‑ready documentation.

Key responsibilities

• Lead project delivery from pre‑delivery through construction and handover for road and transport infrastructure works.
• Manage contractors and on‑site teams to ensure safe, compliant, timely and quality delivery of repairs (washed‑out culverts, embankment stabilisation, temporary access, approach works).
• Prepare and maintain audit‑ready site records, photographs and documentation to support DRFA and client claims.
• Monitor programme risks, procurement and scope issues and escalate early to Senior Program Manager.
• Coordinate traffic management, possession planning and temporary works to maintain public safety and access.
• Engage with councils, utilities and community stakeholders to secure approvals and manage impacts.
• Administer variations, support claims and maintain cost and schedule control.

Essential experience and skills

• Proven experience delivering regional road construction and flood‑repair works in Australia or New Zealand.
• Strong site‑based delivery background with contractor supervision, traffic/possession management and temporary works experience.
• Demonstrated ability to produce audit‑ready evidence and support DRFA or similar funding claims.
• Sound knowledge of WHS, environmental controls and quality assurance on civil projects.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and clear, timely escalation and reporting skills.
• Competence in programme and budget control, contract administration and variation management.
• Right to work in Australia and relevant local experience required.

Desirable

• Experience with emergency flood recovery programs, DRFA processes or government funding claims.
• Familiarity with NEC4 or similar contract frameworks.
• Current site safety tickets and vehicle licence.
