Contracts Manager (Infrastructure)
The client is a well-resourced engineering consultancy operating eight North Island offices and specializing in complex infrastructure recovery projects in Gisborne. Due to recent weather events that have driven up demand for construction services, the company is seeking an experienced Contracts Manager to oversee slip and dropout remediation, bridge strengthening, and road recovery efforts.
About the role:
This hands-on role enables the client to support infrastructure projects during construction, ensuring they progress safely and efficiently. The client works on active sites in the Gisborne District, collaborating with stakeholders and design teams to manage projects, uphold technical standards, and maintain commercial integrity. Their responsibilities include tracking contracts under NZS 3910, evaluating variations, programs, and payment claims, leading MSQA services, and communicating with clients. Tasks range from problem-solving and reviewing contractor submissions to providing practical advice on regional recovery projects that benefit communities.
About the essential experience required:
- At least 2 years working with NZS 3910
- Contract management in civil infrastructure
- Strong MS Office skills (Excel, Outlook)
About the competencies required:
- Current driver’s license – Restricted at a minimum
- High level of organisation and commercial awareness
- Ability to work independently in the field
- Calm under pressure
- Able to manage multiple projects
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- Site-focused, practical mindset.
