The Opportunity:

Our Client is a widely respected New Zealand owned multi-disciplinary engineering practice that has offices in Auckland, Hamilton and Tauranga offering tailored consultancy services across 3 Waters, Geotechnical, Civil, Land Development and Environmental disciplines throughout New Zealand.

We are looking for a Graduate Engineering Geologist/ Geotechnical Engineer to join the team in either the Auckland, Taranga or Hamilton Office.

The Role:

The Graduate Engineering Geologist/ Geotechnical Engineer will have recently graduated or be early in their engineering career and will become part of the Geotechnical team responsible for the following:

·         Site Investigate – you will spend a lot of time outdoors and in the field working on geotechnical drilling rigs and with geotechnical investigation equipment.

·         Perform geotechnical analysis to assess construction site condition

·         Perform geotechnical analysis to assess construction site condition including:

o   Slope stability analysis

o   Liquefaction Analysis

o   Lateral Spread and other Geotechnical analysis.

·         Foundation, retaining wall and pavement design.

·         Geotechnical Reporting.

·         Construction phase monitoring
The projects are on complex sites and you will be working closely with senior engineers using your creativity to develop integrated engineering solutions for clients.

Qualification, Skills & Personal Attributes Required:

·         A bachelor’s degree based qualification in geotechnical engineering or a related profession.

·          Current NZ Driver’s Licence.

·         2-4 years of experience in a wide range of geotechnical engineering projects.

·         Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

·         Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including oral and written communication and particularly the ability to present information in a way that is understandable by a range of audiences.

·         Ability to optimise and prioritise conflicting demands in a busy environment, to achieve deadlines and see responsibilities through to completion.
