Senior Draftsperson

Job description:

As Senior Draftsperson you will be responsible for undertaking detailed Civil, Structural and Building Services design. You’ll have the opportunity to work with a multi-discipline team of professional engineers. You will be provided with a wide range of technical and leadership challenges that will continue to further grow your skills and develop you professionally.

You will take on a senior drafting role as well as contribute to development and overall management of the business. Reporting to the MD, your focus will be on establishing, building and strengthening the drafting department through the management and delivery of projects, technical leadership, coaching and mentoring. Specific responsibilities will include:

• Establishing drafting processes and procedures
• Specifying and procuring relevant drafting software packages and design standards
• Assist with the development of new and repeat business as required – including preparation of proposals and bids for projects, client relationship management and strategic planning.
• Recruiting and managing a team of multi-discipline draft-persons.
• Being hands on in carrying our detailed designs/ drafting for projects across all disciplines in co-ordination with our technical directors and engineers.

Requirements:

High-level technical, leadership, relationship management, planning and commercial expertise are essential in this exciting career advancing role.
Self-motivated, energetic and dynamic leader who has a strong desire to develop and lead a high performing team to contribute and add value to a fully multidisciplinary design business.
You will be trade or tertiary qualified in Civil or mechanical engineering and have senior drafting experience in a consulting engineering services business.
You have gained your 5+ years detailed design/ drafting experience through working on wide range of residential, commercial buildings and / or industrial buildings and multidisciplinary projects.
