Equipment Maintenance Person

The Opportunity:

Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Equipment Maintenance Technician to join our dynamic painting and blasting division Abrasive Blasting & Industrial Coating Specialists (see www.abicoating.com.au). This role focuses on the maintenance and upgrading of essential equipment, ensuring smooth and efficient operations. The ideal candidate will have expertise in welding, rigging, and forklift operation, contributing to various maintenance and repair tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform ongoing maintenance and upgrades on equipment such as blasting machinery, forklifts, compressors, generators, spray booths, paint pots, equipment dollies, and painting racks.
• Assist with truck disassembly and reassembly, ensuring all components are handled and reattached correctly.
• Conduct minor repairs on metal parts involved in paint jobs, ensuring high-quality standards are maintained.
• Aid in the loading and unloading of items onto trucks, particularly in challenging or complex situations.
• Set up paint jobs on trestles and dollies, ensuring equipment and materials are properly prepared for use.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Proven experience in equipment maintenance, preferably within the painting and blasting industry.
• Proficiency in welding and rigging, with the ability to perform various types of repairs and maintenance.
• Valid forklift operator’s license with extensive practical experience.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of safety and quality.

• Familiarity with the specific equipment used in painting and blasting operations.
• Flexibility to adapt to varying tasks and priorities as needed.
• Strong communication skills to coordinate effectively with team members and supervisors.
